Well, wasn't I a sad little vegemite a month ago? Things went from busy to frenetic leading up to Christmas, then it was off to the beach of a short holiday, now we are back and we start work again next Monday.
The holiday was good - a little restorative, just not long enough to really be ready for another year. Then again, if we took a long enough holiday we would be so short of money by Easter that... well, in trouble. My other gripe about holidays at the in-laws beach house is that I don't actually get much of a holiday. I still cook, clean, wash, walk dogs, drive kids - I just get to do it in a much smaller house away from nice cafes and very close to sand. Still, it was better than nothing; a change isn't really as good as a holiday, but it is certainly better than staying here.
In theory we aren't back at work until next Monday, but DH ran into someone yesterday and organised a meeting for TODAY to show him what we do. So he is desparately trying to get the laptop to load (maybe it thinks it's on holidays, too), and I have to organise the hard copies in case the laptop won't come to the party. They are printing now. I'm a little annoyed - why couldn't he have organised the meeting for next week? I think it is because he said that he would spend this week building the dog runs, and he doesn't really want to. On the other hand, he won't let me pay someone to build them. So, here it is - Thursday - and the drainage is in, the gravel is here, but nothing else done. Certainly nothing vertical or fence-like.
Still, I shouldn't be too hard on him, I haven't got the washing back under control since coming back from the beach, and my desk in here looks like a war-zone (that really has to be dealt with before next Monday). Enough for now, I really have to get on with the day.
Cheers
